Project Boylan - Powder Room

As the Bozeman house comes together, I plan to share the first look of our design and progress here as the "Project Boylan" series. And where better to start than with the powder room?!

Because the half bath is located in the heart of the first floor, I want it to be loud! I love small spaces that make a statement (remember this wallpaper from our Capitol Hill house?) Knowing I wanted to again use floor to ceiling wallpaper, I was drawn to Hygge & West's "Daydream." I initially found this paper and planned to use it for the ceiling of Henry's nursery but decided to wait. And won't you bet I was happy I waited when we sold our house and moved to Montana! Now as the foundation of our powder room, the wallpaper helped drive the rest of our selections.

Keep it here for more updates... Happy Monday y'all!

Valentine's Day Edit '19

You guys! Valentine's Day is THIS week and you know I can't pass up an opportunity to celebrate, so here are a few things for the lover in your life whether it's your wee tot or your bestie...

Heart Felt Banner // A cheap and easy decor find from Amazon. We have a few of these banners strung around the house including over Henry's changing table and he LOVES it!

Ric Rac and Suede Slide // This Loeffler Randall Vera Sandal has long been on my wish list and at this price... EEPPP, if only it wasn't -18 degrees (!!!) Maybe I'll buy and stash them for the eventual warmer weather?

Cheree Berry Valentines // Always a snail mail devotee, I'm pretty excited about these little cards that will be sent out from Henry this year.

Striped PJs // Although Lake Pajamas is a new company to me, the classic stripes of this set has my heart a flutter.

Eames Elephant Seat // Vitra always delivers on design and these elephants designed in the 1940s by Charles and Ray Eames are no exception... But what color?!

Modway Spindle Chair // Given much of our furniture was damaged in our cross country move and we sold a significant amount before our departure, the Hubs and I are about to make some big purchases including a new dining set. I love the lines and color pop of this chair...

Tulip Drop Earrings // I've long lusted after the woven silk stylings of Rebecca de Ravenel. Thankfully her designs go on sale frequently so I'll be waiting these out.

Rose Hand Cream // Winter always means dry skin, enjoy this lotion for hydration and the sweet smell of romance - I promise you won't be disappointed!

BKR Water Bottle // Always one to have water on hand, I love the spunky color of this bottle.

Heart Handbag // Loeffler Randall seems to be on fire these days... The beading of this tote is sure to be a heart stealer!

Heart PJs for Your Little // YES, I bought this pair of Roller Rabbit pajamas for Henry and YES... I bought the adult version for me! Dreams really do come true.

Sour Lip Gummies // Another Amazon find - these will make a perfect addition to the treat bags for my co-workers.

Life by Design

Happy New Year and hello from Helena... "Home of the homebody!"

Our transition from fast-paced DC to sleepy Helena, Montana, has been a little tougher than we anticipated. Despite Helena's diverse age population the town is Q-U-I-E-T, which means our family of three is learning to make our own fun and adventures! I imagine this means the blog will change a bit as the Hubs and I dig into new recipes, hit the road for mini trips to visit west coast friends, continue to hike and find new activities but I promise to keep scouring the internet for hidden gems (like Vitruvi's essential oils diffuser - OMG what a game changer) and keep things sharp, sparkly and on the up and up.

Our big news of 2019?! We've broken ground on a new home in Bozeman, Montana! That's right lovers, we are BUILDING A FREAKIN' HOUSE and we can't stop grinning from ear to ear! Being the design lovers we are, building a house is our perfect project and we're enjoying every minute. Especially because our new digs will be right down the block from my sister and her fam AND our soon to be hometown has a vibrant Stars Hollow vibe with a side of hipster!

As the house takes shape, we'll be sharing details here but for now enjoy these photos...  From the top... Our sweet Henry at 8 months (photo by Uncle Nate), reuniting with our besties Josh and Paulo in Missoula over Thanksgiving, hiking Mt. Helena and the initial framing of our new abode --- eeeep!
